Rain, Rain Go Away…

And don’t come back on Saturday. As that is when we will be celebrating our Jubilee Picnic on the school field in Sand Hutton. Please come and join in the activities and picnic from 12 noon. There will be juice, tea and coffee provided (BYO wine and beer if you fancy raising a toast) and a special Jubilee cake. Just bring some party food to share, something to sit on and be ready to party. There will be Jubilee games to try and a quiz based on the villages. Prizes for the winners of the activities and also for the best homemade crown and the best Royal outfit! Lots of treats and a chance to chat with friends and neighbours. Prize giving and Tug of War at about 2.30pm – see you there!

PS If it does rain, picnic will move to the village hall but forecast looks OK at the moment….

Additional Planning Meeting – Thursday 7th June

There will be an additional meeting of the Claxton and Sand Hutton Parish Council on Thursday 7th June. This will be held in Sand Hutton Village Hall and will start at 7.30pm. However, the plans will be available to view from 7pm so residents are welcome to come down to the Hall if they wish to look at the planning documents. The plans to be discussed relate to Pasture Farm, Sand Hutton (Ryedale DC reference 12/00385/FUL) and also a canopy at the rear of Sand Hutton School (North Yorkshire CC reference NY/2012/0104/FUL).

Lots of Celebrations!

There is quite a buzz in the villages today – bunting is up and the Synolda engine 100th birthday party at Sand Hutton school was lovely. I am sure there will be more on that soon – with pictures!
Four days to go until the Jubilee Party Picnic.

We hope you have picked out your red,white and blue outfits and that the kids are busy making crowns? There are a variety of activities planned from a Community Quiz to Throw a Welly so there should be something for everyone.

There are some special prizes including a pork pie from Vicarage Farm, wine, chocolates and other Jubilee treats.

So please come and join in the celebrations at the School Field in Sand Hutton from 12 noon on Saturday 2nd June. Please bring something to sit on for the picnic and some food to share. All the activities are free and drinks and Jubilee cake are provided so just come along to PARTY!

Date is 6th June 9.30 -4.30 cost £40 plus materials to make a hen, pheasant or goose in the day

Final Jubilee Planning Meeting!

Not long to go now and the final planning meeting for the Jubilee parties will be next Tuesday, 29th May at 7pm in the Village Hall, Sand Hutton. We will be focusing on any gaps in the plan and finding helpers to help make cups of tea, oversee party games etc. If you want to see the plans so far, have a look at the notes from the previous meetings on this website.
Please spread the word so that all your friends know that Saturday 2nd is a Jubilee celebration day. There will be a Thanksgiving service at St Marys at 10.30am and from 12 noon there will be a party picnic on the school field. And after you have watched all the celebrations in London, have a cup of tea on the green in Claxton on Tuesday 5th.

She is coming to Sand Hutton!!

No, not the Queen. But Synolda the railway engine who will visit Sand Hutton on Tuesday 29th May. The engine will be at Sand Hutton primary school between 9.30am and 11am next Tuesday. This engine used to run at Sand Hutton Hall and is on the way to the NRM for the Railfest. It is a very special visit in the year when the engine is 100 years old so come along see this Sand Hutton engine. One little boy in our household is beyond excited to see Synolda the engine!

Jubilee Events – The Dates

Look out for a leaflet coming through your doors with more information about the Jubilee events planned for our villages.

A few people have said that they know something is happening but don’t know when, so here is a reminder of the key dates:-

Saturday 2nd June – 10.30am : Thanksgiving at St Mary’s Church with heritage display afterwards
Saturday 2nd June – 12 noon : Bring and Share Party Picnic on the school field, Sand Hutton
Tuesday 5th June – 2pm : Tea Party on the Green in Claxton

More information coming soon but there is still plenty of time to be planning your outfit (s) and making a crown!

Not long to go until we can celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in our villages!

We hope you are planning your party outfits and making a crown for the party picnic on 2nd June. There are a variety of events planned (all free) from a heritage display to a tea party so please look out for more information over the next few days and get ready to celebrate!

The final planning meeting is on TUESDAY 29th May at 7pm in the Village Hall, Sand Hutton.
