Best wishes for 2015 from claxton-sandhutton.org.uk

I hope everyone has had a lovely Festive week. I just wanted to send a little note to thank everybody for your contributions to the Parish website this year and to wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015.

Remember, we are always on the lookout for new ideas for the site so just let us know via the Contribute page what you would like to see for next year – and keep the contributions coming!

On behalf of the claxton-sandhutton.org.uk editorial team.

Neighbourhood Watch

The following message has been received from the North Yorkshire Police Community Messaging Service:

There has been an increase recently in the Ryedale area of vehicles, particularly vans, being broken into.

Please be advised not to leave valuables in vehicles and where possible works vans to be parked so that rear doors cannot be opened.

Gravel Pit Farm Planning Application

PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE : ANAEROBIC DIGESTOR – GRAVEL PIT FARM

Many of you will have received one or both of the recent letters from Ryedale Planning. The situation appears to be that an appeal has been lodged on the first application and a second amended application has been submitted. As far as we know these are 2 separate processes. If you wish to object to the new amended application you must do so in writing to Ryedale District Council by 12th January 2015 as it is unclear whether previous letters of objection will be considered in the new application.

The new amended application can be viewed on line but will be available at the Parish Council meeting on Monday 5th January in the village hall. There will be the opportunity to view from 7pm and the subject will be an agenda item.

It is disappointing that this process has been initiated over the Christmas / New Year period and consequently some of the time period has elapsed and it is difficult to clarify the process details. We will issue a further update after the Parish Council meeting.

Missing Chickens – have you seen them?

On 26th December, 3 bantum chickens went missing from a garden on Main Street, Claxton. There was no sign of a fox taking them so please check under your hedges and sheds in case they have taken shelter there.
The chickens are white, light brown and speckled grey. One chicken remained in the garden and she is missing her friends so if you have any news, please contact Susie on 468166. Thank you.

Carol-singing in Sand Hutton

Hark the Herald Angels Sing! Anyone who likes to sing carols is invited to take to the streets of Sand Hutton on Thursday 18th December; meet at 6 p.m. at the bottom of Hall Drive. Bring a torch (and hats, gloves, scarfs, and hope it’s not the Bleak Mid-winter).
If you like to listen to carols, we’re always happy to be invited to your house (sherry’s very good for the voice).
Collection in aid of North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre who celebrate their 25th Anniversary this week.
