Claxton & Sand Hutton Autumn Litter Pick

CLAXTON & SAND HUTTON – LITTER PICK

The Autumn litter pick will be held on Saturday October 29th.

Please join us to walk around/between Claxton & Sand Hutton in small groups, collecting litter from the verges and pathways. It really does make a huge difference to where we live.
Equipment such as litter pickers, rubbish bags and ‘high vis’ vests will be available (thanks to Ryedale District Council) but as usual it would be a good idea to wear walking boots/sturdy shoes and gardening gloves.

As a thank you for giving up your time to help, there will be sizzling bacon sandwiches (or veggie option) and refreshments back at the Village Hall afterwards.

Please meet at the Village Hall car park at 10.30am, Saturday 29th October

Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon this Sunday

Remember that it is the Yorkshire Marathon this weekend and it comes through Sand Hutton on Sunday morning.
There is more information on routes and road closures on the Marathon website:-
http://www.theyorkshiremarathon.com/events/plusnet-yorkshire-marathon-york/

In previous years, there has been a really good atmosphere in Sand Hutton with lots of clapping and drumming to keep the runners going so well worth joining the spectators. Good luck to any runners!

High Speed Broadband not happening for Sand Hutton!

After a long morning on the phone, my husband has been told by Plusnet (aka BT) that the green cabinet in the Main Street is not “fibre ready”, so this will not be available for the foreseeable future for Sand Hutton residents.
Claxton meanwhile have this facility, it’s just those running from the box (ie. Sand Hutton).
Has anybody else in Sand Hutton managed to get the service we were led to believe we could?
if so, could you let us know how and who you got it off? We are having a terrible loss in speed just recently and it is crippling our business…
