Village Hall Open Evening

With apologies for delay, the results of the community consultation are published below. 

Approximately 30 people attended and the Village Hall Committee would like to thank all those who did attend for their helpful and indeed joyful contributions.

The Village Hall Committee will add these comments to it’s own deliberations and work on the priorities according to the most important improvements and of course the cash available – watch this space.

  • Knock down and start again
  • Big sign at entrance
  • Improve garden area
  • Old fashioned and uninviting entrance, general appearance poor, carpet needs cleaning or replacing
  • Lighting outside and covered walkway to the back door
  • Enlarge entrance, it’s a bottleneck
  • Make provision for pushchairs, wheelchairs etc
  • Improve bin store area


  • Outside seating area with picnic tables  
  • Improve décor  
  • Built in speakers, projector, telephone and internet  
  • Build on extra space for office, tea and coffee area  
  • Changing rooms and hot tub and showers  
  • Audio equipment, music, PA system, stage and disco ball

  • Kitchen, plumbed in water boiler, new ventilation system, make windows open, new extractor and replace tea towels and all cleaning stuff  
  • Boxing gloves, swimming pool, music equipment, white boards, lap top, café, double sink in kitchen, improve first aid and move the meters from the Bailey’s wall  


  • Monthly charity coffee mornings  
  • Themed nights, cooking, murder mystery  
  • Sports, badminton, table tennis, darts, boules, keep fit, pilates, cricket

  • Bar and wine tasting
